Sin-Eater, athlete but not a jock, not so good with fashion. Those were three impressions Kaz had of Josh at the start of everything. But then as a boy in desperate need of a steadying force, Josh became that for Kaz in Nico’s absence. He’d follow him to the ends of the earth, really. In light of Josh having his mom back, his and Hikaru’s relationship finally settled, Kaz is happy to be the mouth-running younger brother who questions his life decisions about a certain compact.

There is a bond that exists between Kaz and Taning. He’s never sure when his ne’er-do-well Kuya is serious or not, but there have been enough moments for Kaz to know when Taning is being a troll, and when he’s being Dead Serious. Where Josh is Kaz’s go-to bro for serious things, it’s Taning he goes to when he just wants an old man to hang out with. Kaz will always have his back, and he’s totally willing to go out on night patrols with him. Because reasons (I am the Night).

Yulia Bostova "The Melinda May to my Skye"
Funnily enough, Kaz saw Yulia as a bad-ass even before she became a Bladian, he was also there when she actually made the deal with her sister. His failures on the battlefield were many and while he’s mostly stayed a respectful distance from Yulia, he cares about her. Seeing her reaction to his death made him realize that maybe he should be paying more attention to her as well on all levels. They do agree on certain things when it comes to Josh, though. He’s eager to prove that he won’t go anywhere and that he’s going to make good on his promise not to do “that” again, especially having seen how she was at O-Bon.
Admittedly, Kaz hadn’t realized what he was doing when he confronted Hikaru after learning of the circumstances of who he was. All that had mattered to him was that there was a guy his age who he saw as a friend and was running away from it. Everything that happened after made Kaz realize that he’d been wrong to assume anything and was content to not really interact with Hikaru, owing to the guilt that pawed at him constantly. To have the man call him (little) brother was something he’d only hoped -- owing to the mistakes he’d made and those that he wished to make up for. Finding out the fact that Hikaru could be brought back to the cycle is something that Kaz is intent on pursuing. This puppy will follow that Wolf as long as he’s useful to him, the same way that he would follow Josh to the ends of the earth.

Roland "Brigade" Stevenson "The Cap to my Spidey"
Brigade’s heart-to-heart with Kaz regarding Kasumi Aoi and his feelings for her was a turning point. Before that he could only see the older man as a soldier with a good heart, and someone who was trying to be more than a Created. Seeing him vulnerable more than convinced the young Vaizard that he was human -- in his eyes at the very least. Kaz had not appreciated being referred to as squishy, and it made him work twice as hard on his shooting. In a way, Brigade is Kaz’s measuring stick, and he’ll never stop working until he can at least tie with Brigade or beat him completely, and will count the Promethean as his second-oldest brother.

Brianna Lopez "The Jubilee to my Shadowcat"
(She’ll Always be my Star)
As his first friend among the Hounds, she holds a special place in Kaz’s heart. While he’d never managed to do more than take her out shopping and to an AKB concert, he counts on her as one of his best friends. Her recent absence was something Kaz felt guilty about, mostly because he actually thought he’d scared her, dying and all. Her return and change in attitude made him realize that he has his own growing up to do, and he doesn’t want to be left behind. To be perfectly honest, though, he hopes Arcadia has fantastic reception because he’s going to get her on ViceTime as much as he can when they aren’t busy.
While Kaz has never talked to the Geist for long, he knows that the history between his older brother and Jonathan Davis is long. This is the man who helped Josh along his path, and in death, gave him a second chance. He respects the man, no question.

Kidlat Tahimik "Tahimik talaga"
He is more than happy to have this little bug tag along wherever, because one: Kuya, and two: he looks like a golden version of Toothless. He was sad for a while because he couldn't see Kidlat at all, but all that's changed. Not even the revelation that he was given to his Kuya by his sister has shaken his love for the dragon.

Anya Bostova "My Badass Ate's Bloodsinger"
Anya is every much as badass as Yulia is, and although Kaz has only had a few opportunities to speak to her, he'd love to see her around more often.
Kaz's relationship with Oswald is precarious. He feels guilty for trapping Oswald's soul within the Wings, but at the same time, he's glad for the company. While the Wings are in his care, he will do everything he can to help cleanse them, and eventually set Oswald free. Now if only they could talk a bit more on that.

Makoto Kuzunoha "He makes Kuya Taning look tame"
He really does. He counts Makoto Kuzunoha as that one brother who isn't often in your business, but when he is, shit goes down. Naturally, his first instinct is to turtle around Makoto, because respect your elders.

Roxas "Yes, from Kingdom Hearts"
Funnily enough, Kaz played through Kingdom Hearts 2 during his sabbatical from St. Quincy's and found that Roxas was the one he related to a lot. Sure he loved Sora and Riku, but there was something about Roxas' circumstances that resonated so hard with Kaz. Having a minor for a Persona makes it hard to drink like a fish, but Kaz is happy to have Roxas at his side.
