[That command is matched by a gesture on Jessie's end that has the model breaking apart into a fuckload of different forms. Four of them will definitely catch your interest, though, because they're labeled 'CURRENT' while the rest are labeled 'POTENTIAL': a pair of guns, a pair of tonfa, a pair of gun tonfa, and a bow.]
You're a lucky butt, kid. The Wings have those forms "stored". [Hum, hum.] The readings indicate that it's definitely sentient. It's capable of "growing" the way you want it to grow, and "learning" what you want it to learn.

There are now five configurations he's got circling him, all the same size as the Wings would normally be: Guns, Guns-Tonfa, Gunblade, Knives... How he found a dual Keyblade configuration, well. Fanboy. He's rotating them, studying them, and because he knows this is all probably saved somewhere, he's brought up a keypad and is typing up notes.
It's a while before he even so much as says something.]
So the Wings respond to me, and grow the way I want them to. Its configurations are up to me to decide, but then... How do I make them come out?
[This he asks as he takes a hold of the Gun configuration.]

I'll have to modify the Wings and make them variable. That'll give you access to those forms. [Gesturing to the "CURRENT" forms.] Do you want the others?
[He draws that out because he definitely wants the Guns, not too sure about the Gun-Tonfa. He's looking at the Bow form, and deciding that while that had been Oswald's style, it wasn't his. A flick of his fingers turns that into shards of light, and he brings the Keyblades, Knives and Gunblade forms forward.]

[He asks, because your opinion matters to him. You are, after all, his Mentor.]
I think you should stick to what you know. If you don't know how to use a form, don't bother learning it when you've got a fuckload of other things to study.
[Like. You know. Card powers. Benedictions. Basic self-defense.]
[He's holding out the Gun Form in the palm of his hand.]
The Keyblade and the Gunblade forms are a litttle too flashy, I was gonna ask if I could have their schematics to study... I don't think Knives are my style, and I'm not ready for the Guns-Tonfa...
[Kaz shrugs, leaving the Gun form schematics in the air, and compressing the rest by caging it in his hands like in the movie.]
What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that you can trust me to to stick to what I know, and learn based on that.
[The retort on his tongue dies before it even fully forms, mostly because yeah, earlier on he DID bite off more than he could chew and it had gotten him hurt.]
That and I'm a better gunner than I am a swordsman.
[He smiles now, totally open to whatever else you got for him.]
I'd considered learning iaijutsu at some point, but I didn't want to be the one who learned his boyfriend's fighting style just so he could.

I took forever to pick a weapon specialty at St. Quincy's. All my instructors kept trying to push me towards becoming a spear-wielder. It was probably my bad to keep putting it off, but I eventually went for kobudo... So... Tonfa, maybe the Bo.
[He's not about to say that the Ataru form of Lightsaber combat also interested him.]

Well, most other legacy hunters would be happy to pick the weapons of their parents up, either because they love them to bits or they think that getting better at it will help them deal with their issues.
[But your case is different. He knows that, but he wants to hear it straight from you.]
I always used to think that I'd be like mom someday, and then everyone else and their mom expected me to be like her. Funny how my issues and the fact that I do love my family to bits are exactly the reasons I never want to pick the spear up.

Or at least... I never used to want it. Lately, I figure that it really isn't for me. Same way I don't think I can shoot a bow properly, or wield a sword and shield the same way Mamita does.
[He's still not looking at you, 'cause it was a knee-jerk reaction to flick that configuration away.]
[He's thinking about what you just asked, 'cause he's fallen quiet, looking at the hovering specs of the Gun mode, and the default Tonfa mode.]
Things I chose for myself, really. My family has no shortage of weapons and fighting styles to choose from, but what counts is that I get to pick.

When I gave up the Wings, I could've picked any other weapon up to replace them and gone on from there. I just took it as a sign that Brig gave me a new pair of Tonfa, that they're every bit a part of me as the guns that my uncle and my best friend taught me how to shoot. And even there it was my choice to learn, to get better at the things I could be good at.
