[ And Josh is reaching over to ruffle your hair a little. ]
Honestly? [ Rethe's drop in had been brief, and a result of him asking the angel if he had a moment to spare since Brianna seemed to be taking the aftermath of Kaz dying and coming back pretty hard. ] I think he's okay.
[ He smirks a little, but you can tell it's still a little odd for him. Coming back. He's also looking above your head at the Chariot Arcana, running around.]
It'll take some practice not to go looking up at it, hm?
[ Glancing over your way now, just as he's navigating Facebook back to his feed. ]
A bit. I didn't know what the clocks were about initially, so I kind of just did my best to tune them out. Better to accept that you know zilch than to pretend that you know what it is and not feel sure.
Jessie's got me hitting the Arcanum again, then actual practice... Well, I don't have a lot yet. I can feel Roxas and my bond with him, but that's it so far.
[ He's scrolling through messages and just leaning in closer. ]
You'll get there. This is pretty fresh. My Card knowledge can be counted as just secondhand since you know -- not a Card -- but you've got a pretty sweet deal with Jessie as your mentor.
[ He means that. You've heard him speak about Jessiah Vice before, with much respect and fondness. ]
[ Has Kaz ever wibbled like this in front of you before? He looks ridiculously flustered at the mention of 'Jessie' and 'mentor'. It's not the same as the shy pride he displayed when Paolo started teaching him. ]
[ And then because he kind of knows how intimidating Jessie can be at first: ] He's a great guy. You just got to roll with the punches where it concerns his humor.
S'not his sense of humor, big brother... S'just... He's kind of...
[ How do explain the fact that he's only idolized Jessie since he was a kid, and that if it weren't for the guy, so many of the things he liked to do wouldn't be there anymore. ]
[It had been great to see Frozen with the Hounds, unfortunately, having told his grandmother and his other family that he'd gotten engaged left some tingling energy under his skin, and he'd tossed in bed for a while, unable to sleep.
He's checking Facebook when he sees Rethe's post and decides that he should probably go see the Angel, now that he's back in town and grounded for the next month. So he gets up and changes before sending a text to Rethe.]
SENT: 2:09 AM I'm not sure if something's wrong? But I'll see you soon.
[He was in the garage as he sent that text, and it doesn't take all that long to get from the tower to Haven, so he guns the engine and roars out into the night, thoughts running a mile a minute.]
[Rethe, in the meantime, leaves instructions with the staff to direct his young friend up to the quieter tables at Haven. He's already got his Jack Coke, and he'll smile once Kaz comes around.]
[The drive to Haven was quick, if anything. After all, traffic was non-existent, and it wasn't as if the Tower was all that far, so he parks the bike and actually leaves the helmet strapped to the seat. Haven was... a haven, after all.
He's instructed to head for the mezzanine and the quieter areas of Haven when he enters. He's ordered a milkshake, of all things, because no more alcohol for a while. He spots Rethe nursing a Jack Coke and approaches, smiling easily.]
[Have a smile that's meant to reassure you, Mr. Kyriff-Clayce.]
That's the thing... Nothing is. My Blade seems happy, and while we've been told to sit down and take a break, it looks like everyone's happy to do it.
[He settles into the seat and waits for a bit.]
I keep... I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. For something to happen and make things not-okay again. Five days with no major emergency with a Hound involved is a record...

7 August, because comments made on post can be liked
[ Seeing this on the plane ride to Tokyo, when he takes a break from playing. ]

So... Um... Did I worry him?
[ Typical Kaz, making sure everyone else is okay right now because he went and got himself killed. ]
Rethe, I mean.

Hey, you.

[He's smiling, of course, but it's obvious that he's concerned.]
And hi, Roxas.
[The Persona isn't out yet, but they DO like to be remembered, in Rethe's experience.]

[Roxas murmurs "Hello" sheepishly from in Kaz's head. The young Persona is also blushing, which makes Kaz smile a little as he takes his seat.]
Roxas says 'hello', Rethe... So. Um. I couldn't sleep...

[Leaning forward now, because his worry over you is steadily rising...]

Well... to be fair, the other shoe always ends up dropping in this business. But you don't have to keep waiting on it.
