[ Kaz has a list from his Aniki and the resources to get all of them if he really wanted to. After all, his mother and grandmother are partners for Rhiannon (whether or not it happened before he became a Card, Kaz doesn't know, but he'll hazard a guess at before.) and he wants to make a good enough impression on his older brother's mentor.

Now, he's aware of The Dovetailor... Mostly because she's J's mentor in all things network, which is awesome. Seeing her out and about though... Which is why he's kind of shyly walking around, but keeping her in his line of sight, unsure how to even start a conversation or something. ]

[She recognizes Kaz's psychic signature just as she's about the enter the store, and turns around to smile at him.]

Hi there.

H-hi, miss Dovetailor, ma'am.

[ Well, she's spotted him, no use hiding now. ]

It's a rare honor to see you out and about.

Just call me Sawyer, Kaz. Dovetailor's a call sign.

[Smiling up at him, like she isn't an Inquisitor and he isn't a Fifth Circle operative.]

I'm trying to pick a gift for Gabriel, actually.

[ He has the list in his hand and a shy smile on his face. ]

I figure fine liquor is a good way to say happy birthday.

[Chuckles.]

It usually is, especially for a Throne.

[Those guys can drink.]

I take it they drink quite a bit? The last time I was there, the tea was impressive.

They're... how do I put it? Incredibly European in their sensibilities?

[Saying that with fondness. You know how it goes on that continent: tea/coffee for breakfast, juice/wine for lunch, wine/other alcoholic something for dinner. Who needs water that isn't fucked with anyway, right?]

Would you care for some company, then? I'm not all that great at picking out finer liquor.

I'd love company.

[She means it. Netsach may have the whole family thing going, but a lot of the younger operatives still kept their distance from her, an Inquisitor, on principle.]

Maybe we can grab something to eat after we're done too.

I rarely ever say no to food.

[ He smiles, checking the list and the shelves for the right kind of present. It'll call to him. ]

So how's J doing? I mean, she's still training with you, right?

She's doing fine. As things stand, I'm pretty sure that those training wheels of hers will be off soon.

[She is, after all, in line for a promotion. Dove's not about to say that, though. Jessica ought to be the one to fill folks in.]

Yeah, we all got pretty excited when she went from being CIC to being on the field. S'kind of awesome.

[ He says that with a genuine smile. Her being the Oracle to his Nightwing for sometime was pretty cool. ]

[Smiling at that, then moving closer to one of the stands in order to pick up a bottle that caught her eye.]

She's rather attached to all of you, from what I can see. That sort of thing helps, in my experience.

[ He smiles at the way he words it. ]

I really do like her, and I'm happy she's with the Pride.

Same here. They seem to be a good fit for her.

[She's been watching over them while they're on the field. Kind of like how she watches over all of you, really.]

[ He's inspecting one of the bottles that was on the list and wondering if just one is enough. ]

So, out of curiosity, how much booze can a Throne put away?

Hmm... the kids can take about three big bottles of liquor. The older ones range from anywhere between eight to infinity.

[Because some of them can't drunk.

Yes. They're all very Old World, so.

[Yanno. Their children start smoking and drinking at around eight, if they ever start at all.]

Erm... When you say old world, you mean the 90's, or the Victorian Era?

[ It's honest to Elaine curiosity, Dove. He really can't help himself sometimes. ]

It mostly depends on their actual age, but "Old World" usually means 70s or older.

[ His eyes are a little on the wide side, but hey, okay. They drink young. Not the oddest thing. ]

Most people who live very long or are practically immortal tend to be a little hipster, so-to-speak.

I might know that feeling rather well. The whole hipster thing, I mean.
